What to Do On Your Next Trip to Las Vegas
A common misconception is that Las Vegas is only for gambling. While there in no pretending that it is not what they want you to come there for, there is plenty more to do besides donate to the casinos. Your next trip to Las Vegas can be filled with a few more adventures and allow you to come home with something more than empty pockets next time around.
Play Golf – If you like to chase the little ball around, you will find some of the best secrets in the golfing world in Las Vegas. One of them is a stone’s throw from the strip and while you may have to hire car service or rent a car to get to the other one, it will be well worth it. Bali Jai is an absolutely incredible golf course that is right on the main strip and will treat you to some of the most incredible golf in Vegas. If you have deep pockets, give the Royal Links a shot. Each hole is modeled after a significant hole at a British Open golf course and it is like nothing you have never seen or played on before.
See a Show – The golden years are back in terms of shows in Las Vegas. There was a period that it was getting a little cheesy out there, but some major headliners are back in town. If you like magic, Lance Burton is a must see. Cirque de Soleil has multiple shows on the strip, but O is probably the one that you absolutely do not want to miss out on.
Have Lunch at Paris – Mon Ami Gabi is not only a great restaurant, it also sits directly across the street from the Bellagio where you can sip on a glass of wine, munch on some tasty pomme frites and watch the fountain show. There is no better place to have lunch than the patio at Mon Ami Gabi.
Take a Walk Downtown – Old Vegas was hardly a place that anyone would have recommended that you visit a few years ago, but that also has changed. The entire area is now closed in so that they can present an incredible laser show every evening and the drinks and gambling are much cheaper in this part of town. Take the bus for $2 if you are on the main strip as you must see Binions and the Golden Nugget. If you want to stay there, no place is better than the Nugget with the Shark Tank Pool.
Check out the Lounges – Some of the best lounge acts in the world are right in Vegas and it will cost you nothing more than a few drinks to enjoy them. The lounge at the Bellagio has one of the best cover bands around and nothing tops going to The Voodoo Lounge at the Rio. Take your drink outside and look at one of the best views on the strip. If you want romance, it is delivered on a silver platter outside at the Voodoo.
Vegas is more than gambling and if you can manage to peel yourself away from the tables for a few hours, you will realize that you are in one of the greatest cities in the world. You can literally do just about anything you want in this town, all you have to do is ask. |
